THE world of solo guitar tends to be dominated by electric rock players who can pump out 100 notes per second and are thus labelled "virtuosos''. Dominic Miller, guitarist for Sting, Chris Botti, Placido Domingo and dozens of other musical luminaries is the complete opposite, preferring a quiet, subtle and introspective approach to the guitar - yet he can lay claim to being just as adept.
In Silent Light, his acoustic playing is sparse, intelligent and beautiful, with Miller demonstrating throughout his own unique brand of virtuosity - the uncanny ability to convey emotion with only a few notes and knowing when to play and when not to play.
