Spectacular, despite acoustic challenge
The concert featuring some 250 Singapore musicians drew praise for its line-up, but the sound system disappointed many.

BY all accounts, Friday's Sing50 concert at the National Stadium was a triumph of scale, spectacle and song, bringing together some of the biggest heroes of Singapore music past and present before an audience of 41,343.
Unfortunately, the sound system left much to be desired as audiences, particularly in the upper tiers, experienced reverberations bouncing off the domed roof. Audience members complained on social media sites about the acoustics, describing the sound as "noisy". But several later said it improved in the concert's second half.
