IT was art and fashion at its best at the glamorous ICON Ball on Tuesday, when 300 of Singapore's social and business who's who gathered at this annual high society event.

Held at the Shangri-La Hotel, guests were dressed according to the theme of art, displaying a glitzy array of gowns and dresses inspired by everything from Chinese traditional paintings, Japanese origami, modern graphic prints, contemporary art, photography and architecture. One guest even carried a whimsical hand clutch that mimicked a bag of potato chips.

On the women were designs from the likes of Mary Katrantzou from the UK, Zuhair Murad from Lebanon, Lariya from Kazakhstan, Dion Lee from Australia, Hong Kong designer Alice & Olivia with David Choe as well as local designers Francis Cheong and Heng Nam Nam. Other names included Monique Lhullier, Rochas and Marchesa.
