In sport, nothing beats being there 'live'

Watching on TV isn't the same as being at the stadium to witness history in the making

FOR almost any sport, many people choose to consume the action from the comfort of their living room via their TV sets, while some may prefer to watch at their favourite watering hole or restaurant. But if the opportunity presents itself, from my point of view, there's simply nothing like being in a stadium or arena for the unbeatable "live" experience.

When swimmer Joseph Schooling won gold in all of his events at the 2015 Sea Games in Singapore, those who witnessed the amazing feat in person at the OCBC Aquatic Centre have a precious memory for the rest of their lives.

Similarly, when Brazilian footballer Neymar graced the National Stadium in Kallang for the first time in 2014 and smashed four goals past Asian champions Japan, the 51,577 people lucky enough to get a ticket can always say they were present when sporting history was made at their doorstep.
