[SINGAPORE] Known best for his trademark nifty footwork and lethal finishing, Liverpool Football Club (LFC) legend Robbie Fowler was in town to take part in Standard Chartered’s (StanChart) football clinic on Friday (Sep 19).
The former Reds striker conducted drills for close to 100 children – aged between seven and 12 – at The Cage@Dempsey. The participants included those from non-profit organisation Care Singapore.
At the session, the children learnt the finer arts of passing, dribbling and shooting. Fowler took part in seven-a-side games with them as well.
The participants also received LFC merchandise, including a teddy bear and a shoe bag, and had a group photo taken with Fowler.
StanChart is the main club partner of LFC – one of the longest-running partnerships in Premier League history.
Patrick Lee, StanChart Bank’s chief executive officer for Singapore and Asean, said: “It was particularly heartening to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they learnt the tricks of the game from someone like Fowler, who has played at the highest level and truly epitomises what it means to represent this illustrious club.
