AFTER a string of so-so efforts, Ricky Gervais turns back the clock to revisit the David Brent character he created in the cult BBC mockumentary The Office (2001-2003) in David Brent: Life on the Road.

The full-length feature, now streaming exclusively on Netflix, isn't a reboot of the television series as the title implies; instead, it's a character drama - and a pretty entertaining one that fans of the original show might get nostalgic about - centred around the ex-head honcho of paper company Wernhamm Hogg.

It opens with Brent now working as a sales rep for bathroom supply firm Lavichem after failing to launch his music career. Not one to give up on his dreams, he decides to take a month of unpaid leave to take another shot at rock superstardom.
