Stop and appreciate the art
WHAT’S your experience at art fairs? A whirlwind tour of artworks while discussing the artists’ pedigree and collectability? How about sitting down and having a meaningful conversation with the artist personally instead, along with fellow art lovers? Walk Walk Don’t Run is just the venue for you, as the art event offers an antidote to the phenomenal rise in art fairs and art “fair-tigue” from rushing through countless art works in a span of a few days.
Organised by independent art space Grey Projects, Walk Walk Don’t Run involves over 30 creatives and collectives opening up their studios on three Saturdays in March, where visitors can mingle with artists and enjoy free-flowing conversations. Its first edition in 2021 earned raves from art enthusiasts who warmed to the idea of a safe and warm environment to talk about art freely and with no pretensions. In Friday’s edition of BTLifestyle, meet the people and artists behind this initiative, and how it could be the shape of art appreciation to come.
In Design, as apartments get smaller and smaller, interior designers have to get even more creative to maximise tiny living spaces. We look at a one-bedroom apartment that is virtually designed around a timber box with its clever storage permutations.
Watch lovers, check out some of the exciting new releases that brands have unveiled ahead of the much-awaited Watches & Wonders fair. In Dining, we brave heavy rain to hunt down the speakeasy-inspired Israeli restaurant Aniba, to see if it is worth the effort. Get all this and more in Friday’s issue of BT.
