Snow Patrol's current world tour finds them returning to Singapore and playing a special show in support of their seventh studio album Wildness, released last May. The gig will feature the Northern Irish group in unplugged mode as they play songs off the new record alongside classic hits like Chasing Car, Run and Set the Fire to the Third Bar acoustically. Wildness is Snow Patrol's first studio album since 2011's Fallen Empires, which led them to play Singapore for the first time in 2012. The band has sold 16 million records worldwide and frontman Gary Lightbody said he had to overcome a bout of writer's block prior to recording Wildness. Incidentally, during that hiatus, guitarist Johnny McDaid co-wrote Ed Sheeran's Shape of You and Photography, and Pink's What About Us; while Lightbody also wrote music with Sheeran and One Direction.
Snow Patrol - Live and Acoustic takes place at University Cultural Centre (UCC) Hall on Sep 1 at 8pm. Book tickets from S$98 at Sistic.
