Van Cleef & Arpels opens its first duplex boutique in South-east Asia at Ion Orchard
Apart from selected high jewellery pieces, the French jeweller is also presenting a scenography for the Christmas season
[SINGAPORE] Just in time for the year-end festive season, luxury jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels has unveiled a new, double-storey boutique at Ion Orchard, its first duplex store in South-east Asia. At 4,845 square feet, it more than doubles the size of its original boutique at the mall.
Inspired by the layout of a French apartment, it offers a variety of spaces for clients, including two private salons. One of them is dubbed Greenhouse, as it is lined with orchids and ferns to echo Singapore’s reputation as a Garden City.
Thanks to the boutique’s new location by the building facade, the Greenhouse and other parts of the store also enjoy an abundance of natural light via large windows, even as screens protect clients’ privacy.
“This new boutique represents another milestone in strengthening the maison’s presence in South-east Asia,” says Julie Clody Medina, president of Van Cleef & Arpels, Asia Pacific.
To mark the new boutique’s opening, the jeweller is showcasing the Flower brooch, an orchid it crafted in diamonds and platinum almost 100 years ago.
The patrimonial piece displays a naturalistic design, with the middle of the bloom featuring a central clawset diamond, while two diamond-paved petals extend outwards, each with openwork detailing to highlight a central vein.
For the first time, the maison is also bringing several pieces from its Treasure Island high jewellery collection to Singapore.
Inspired by the novel of the same name by Robert Louis Stevenson, the Recif corallien white and rose gold necklace is encrusted rubies and diamonds, while the Couronne precieuse ring brings to mind a regal crown, with a single cushion-cut sapphire of 16.99 carats surrounded by emeralds, rubies and diamonds on a white and yellow gold ring.
With the Christmas season coming, the maison has taken the opportunity to present a scenography along the outdoor facade of the new boutique. The installation brings an enchanted winter forest to the mall, where snow cloaks pine trees and piles up on the ground while delightful animals dot the landscape.
“It is with immense joy that we open a new chapter in our history with this new boutique, where heritage and innovation speak the same language, all within the bucolic atmosphere of a beautiful garden curated with care and crafted with purpose,” says Dorothee Henrio, Van Cleef & Arpels’ managing director, South-east Asia.
Visitors can learn about the maison’s iconic Alhambra collection while those so inclined can participate in a little quiz and receive a token when they get all the answers right.
Van Cleef & Arpels’ The Winter Garden is open from 10am to 10pm (last entry at 9.40pm) till Jan 1, 2026
