Grand Debut

FIFTY YEARS IS a long time for a brand to be in Singapore, and fittingly, Seiko marked the occasion with the opening of its new flagship boutique and also to launch its trio of Grand Seiko models.

Located in Takashimaya Shopping Centre, the boutique cements the Japanese brand's presence in Singapore for over half a century. At the same time, the three Seiko high-end timepieces were rolled out to mark the 20th anniversary of the Spring Drive, a unique Grand Seiko movement which combines the high torque of a mechanical timepiece and the high precision integrated circuit control system of an electronic watch.

Skilled artisans have put together the three handcrafted watches - one dress Seiko picks Singapore to launch its commemorative timepieces timepiece and two sports watches - which live up to what the Grand Seiko is known for: watches of the ''highest precision, legibility and durability''. The stainless steel dress watch, the SBGY003, has a sophisticated simplicity that makes it both understated and refined. The presence of Japanese aesthetics is unmistakable.
