Gherardini - the 130-year-old leather accessories maker from Florence popular with European nobles in the 19th century - makes its Southeast Asian debut with a boutique in Takashimaya. Founded in 1885 by Garibaldo Gherardini, it started out making bags for those who travelled on Italy's fast growing rail network, but graduated to making handbags, wallets and the like. It's known for its patented 'Softy' material, with its buttery soft, lightweight and silky texture that's also wrinkle-free so you can fold and stuff it into your suitcase. Check out its new Fall/Winter collection of all-leather accessories and Softy bags with leather trimmings and handles. Highlights include the versatile Ulita structured monogram bag which is perfect for both business and leisure use, and the ever-useful tote bags that can take you from shopping to an overseas trip.
