A MASSIVE 12 metre Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton can be viewed at Singapore’s Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall from Oct 28 to 30, before going to auction at Christie’s Hong Kong Autumn Auction Week in November. This is the first time that a T-Rex skeleton is being auctioned in Asia.

The T-Rex named Shen will accompany a selection of other auction highlights, such as artworks from the 20th and 21st century, including South-east Asian works and Chinese paintings, as well as an array of luxury items such as jewellery, watches and handbags. The latter will be on view at The Arts House at The Old Parliament from Oct 29 to 30, just next to the Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall.

The museum-standard dinosaur skeleton measures 12.2 metres long, 4.6 metres high and 2.1 metres wide, and is estimated to be worth between US$15 million and US$25 million. It was discovered in the US, in McCone County, Montana, in the Hell Creek Formation, and is believed to have lived during the Cretaceous Period, which is about 68-66 million years ago.
