Tailor Made
Fong Loo Fern, managing director of Singaporean heritage tailor, CYC, knows that stepping into a tailor shop can be an intimidating affair, especially for those used to buying clothes off the rack. She hopes to change that mindset, with a virtual dresser at the new CYC store at Capitol Piazza. An interactive screen at the store entrance lets you pick your fabrics and customise your shirts according to collar style, sleeve length and button colours, while pairing them with trousers of various fabrics. "The interactive touch screen is designed to act as an interesting 'shopkeeper', easing new customers into the concept of tailoring. It also draws those who have never stepped into our shop before, to come in for a look, and try their hand at 'tailoring" their very first made-to-measure shirt on-screen," says Ms Fong.
CYC @ Capitol Piazza is at 13 Stamford Rd, #01-26 Capitol Piazza.
