Tales of wanderlust

CAN'T travel? Write a book about it. But if you can't write, you can always read the books that some Singapore authors have penned as a way to compensate for their own wanderlust.

In tomorrow's BT Lifestyle, we look at how some writers' travel tales have become local bestsellers, such as Koh Buck Song's Around the World in 68 Days, where he chronicles his trips to 13 countries over two months in 2018. Then there's Clara Chow, who wrote two books about New Orleans and the famous caves in Ipoh, and Secret Singapore by Heidi Sarna and Jerome Lim, which covers places you never knew existed in the city.

Meanwhile, in Design, get a taste of the past while living in the present. We visit a conservation shophouse that is also part of a condominium project in Robertson Quay, so its owners get to enjoy the best of architectural history with the convenience of condo facilities.

And now that diners can dine out again, we head to Basque Kitchen by Aitor, whose new premises is a world apart from its old address - in both space and menu.
