Taylor Swift’s Midnights returns to No 1 on the latest Billboard album chart, notching its third time at the top after the slot was held for one week by Drake and 21 Savage.

Midnights, which had by far the biggest opening for an album this year – or, in fact, any of the last seven years – when it came out a month ago, had the equivalent of 204,000 sales in the US, including 184 million streams and 60,000 copies sold as a complete package, according to tracking service Luminate. Its latest week of sales brings the four-week tally for Midnights to the equivalent of 2.4 million sales.

Swift, coming off an “excruciating” experience last week, as demand for tickets to her Eras Tour far outstripped supply – leading to Ticketmaster snags and disappointed fans – also holds the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, with Anti-Hero notching its fourth week at No 1.

Also on the latest album chart, Drake and 21 Savage’s collaborative Her Loss falls one spot to No 2, while Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti is in third place, and Lil Baby’s It’s Only Me is No 4.

Faith in the Future, the second studio album by Louis Tomlinson, formerly of the group One Direction, opens at No 5 with the equivalent of 43,000 sales. NYTIMES
