Tech it up a notch

JUST a decade ago, Audi had only one Sports Utility Vehicle in its line-up in the form of the mammoth, seven-seat Q7. Now there are four Audi SUVs available in varying sizes, but it's the Q5 that has served as the bestseller among them.

That gives the car you see here, the second-generation of the Q5, pretty big shoes to fill. Just as well that the improvements that went into it reads like a laundry list of Audi updates. It has the latest high-rigidity architecture, which contributed to 35kg of weight loss as well as improved body strength despite a larger footprint.

The bigger dimensions give it slightly more interior room and luggage space than before, naturally.
