The Capitol Kempinski Singapore pays tribute to its founder Berthold Kempinski with two new dining outlets that bring a taste of Germany to Stamford Road. Berthold Delikatessen is one of only a few bakeries to offer a wide array of specialty breads, rolls and pastries, including traditional Bretzel, Bauernbrot or farmer's bread, and the braided Hefezopf (priced from S$7 to S$9). Frieda Restaurant, on the other hand, serves a reinterpretation of German classics imbued with Austrian influences. Dig into the likes of familiar Wiener Schnitzel (S$37) or breaded veal cutlet, while those with a sweet tooth can demolish the Griessflammerie (S$12), a semolina pudding with a tart cherry compote, or the Bismarck ($12), a fluffy, crispy pancake served with a drizzle of maple syrup.
The two outlets are located at Arcade@The Capitol at Kempinski
