Time for football SEA change after Games

FOR all the triumphs in sports such as swimming, table tennis and netball so far, the football gold medal was the one that Team Singapore would have really craved to have around their necks.

Alas, it is not to be. The Young Lions, bruised and battered, are at home busy licking their wounds. The Republic's long dream of being crowned kings of South- east Asian football continues.

They can only look on in envy as Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam - the four teams in the semi-finals of the SEA Games football tournament - strut their stuff at the National Stadium on Saturday.
