'Tis The Season
The ever-popular W!ld Rice pantomime returns with a parody of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Directed by Hossan Leong and written by Jonathan Lim, A $ingapore Carol stars Sebastian Tan (aka Broadway Beng) as miserly multi-millionaire S.K. Loo who prefers to spend his Christmases alone in his penthouse, so he doesn't have to spend an extra cent on anyone else. But when three spirits pay him a visit to give a glimpse of his past, present and future, S.K. Loo is forced to re-evaluate his five Cs.
As with previous W!ld Rice pantomimes, you can expect a dash of Singlish humour, plenty of topical references, and a side-splitting soundtrack that ranges from remixed Christmas classics to hilariously reworded radio hits.
A $ingapore Carol runs from now till Dec 15 at Victoria Theatre. Tickets from Sistic.
