Tough As Steel

Following the success of its GMW-B5000, Casio G-Shock has given another of its iconic square models a metallic makeover. Nicknamed the New Generation Origins GM-5600, the collection features three watches that come with metal bezels and resin bands that aesthetically take after certain pieces in the GMW-B5000 range. Specs-wise, the GM-5600 omit a few functions - namely solar power, Bluetooth and Multi Band 6 capabilities - but that also means its retail price is slashed to about half that of the GMW-B5000 entry model. The steel bezel and black band combo (GM-5600-1, S$259) is the most classic; while the camo dial, black ion-plated bezel and khaki band one (GM- 5600B-3, S$279) is made to be worn in the urban jungle.
