HOW do you ensure that traditional crafts such as Chinese lantern making or ketupat weaving don’t die out when older artisans are no longer around?

A new effort by the National Heritage Board (NHB) that brings together craftspersons and contemporary designers hopes to give traditional crafts longevity and relevance in today’s society through innovation.

Craft X Design is part of NHB’s efforts under Our SG Heritage Plan to cultivate greater public awareness and appreciation of Singapore’s intangible cultural heritage and create platforms to showcase Singapore’s rich and diverse trades and crafts.
