If you're planning a Christmas getaway where you can relax and do good for the environment as well, Capella Ubud fits the bill. From now till end Dec, the resort in Bali which boasts luxurious one-bedroom villas will donate one per cent of revenue generated from its website bookings to Trash Hero Indonesia. This is the national arm of Trash Hero World, a group of non-profit, community-based organisations bringing communities together to clean the environment. The worldwide voluntary movement works to reduce waste raise awareness through trash clean-ups, workshops to highlight the environmental impact of trash, and long-term sustainable programmes to get communities to work together for the common good. Proceeds from the resort's bookings will support programmes and the publication of a children's book, to educate the younger generation on waste management.
