Thrill Factor
Been there, done that when it comes to bungee jumping or skydiving? Adrenaline seekers need to check out the Nevis Catapult then. Feel the pull of up to 3G forces and speeds of almost 100 km per hour in 1.5 seconds as you're propelled 150m out across a ravine before plunging towards the valley floor in a series of jaw-dropping bounces. The Catapult jump, which takes place in the remote Nevis Valley near Queenstown, New Zealand, is run by AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand, the first commercial bungee jump operator. Co-founder Henry van Asch first came up with the idea in the 1980s, when he played around with the idea by riding his mountain bike with a bungee cord attached, off the bridges. In case you're wondering, the Catapult is developed to internationally recognised global safety standards and regulated under New Zealand adventure tourism and amusement device standards.
