Travel Insider
Who needs a hotel concierge when you have an app to help you? First established in New York, Porter & Sail is now available in Bali, Phuket, Sydney and Singapore, where it partners boutique hotels such as The Warehouse Hotel, Berlin's Hotel Zoo and Katamama in Bali to offer a seamless booking process. Besides direct reservations, the app allows on-the-go hotel check-in and keyless room entry via mobile phone in a 24-hour concierge chat. In some cities, users can get the scoop on top tables and secure a reservation through the app.
Even if you're not staying at any of the partner hotels, the app works with city experts to provide insider travel knowledge that anyone can use. For example, Parisian master baker Eric Kayser shares his favourite shops such as Fromagerie Laurent Dubois and Secco boulangerie. There are also guides on how best to spend 50 hours or less in some cities.
