Tremendous Entertainment, Crossroads Live in deal to bring more shows to S-E Asia
PARENT company of BASE Entertainment Asia, Tremendous Entertainment (TE), announced on Monday that it has entered a "long-term strategic cooperation agreement" with theatre production house Crossroads Live to bring more shows into South-east Asia.
Under the agreement, Crossroads Live will also be making a minority investment into TE as the latter company prepares for a public listing this year, though the amount injected is undisclosed.
"Crossroads Live's track record of partnering with leading West End and Broadway creators to deliver their productions to audiences across the region makes them a vital part of our growth ambitions," said chief executive officer of Tremendous Entertainment, Chantal Prudhomme.
TE, which owns the intellectual property for children television hit-series Hi-5, has its core business in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. It also has a majority stake in BASE Entertainment Asia, which is currently the exclusive manager for programmes at Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands.
Most recent productions at the Sands Theatre include Aladdin, The Phantom of the Opera, as well as Crossroads Live's touring productions of Cats and Chicago.
