Easily bought over the counter and found on shelves of major supermarkets or shops, these classic brands may not have a hip, New Age cache to them but they offer the necessary nutritious boost in modern, easy-to-consume packaging.
THE idea of functional foods has been around for a long time. Household names such as Brand's and Eu Yan Sang for example have given us products that our grandmothers or mothers brought us up on.
So while there's now a wave of newly discovered "superfoods" flowing into the market, there are still companies giving us the tried-and-tested food supplements and more, but jazzing them up with the latest flavours, ingredients and technologies.
