Twin peaks
IT is not often that such wine "Everests" as Comtes Lafon's Montrachet 2005 and Chateau Margaux 1959 come one's way. Indeed, it is more likely only once a lifetime! Well, that once in a lifetime happened a few nights ago!
Montrachet 2005, Domaine Comtes Lafon
Brilliant bright golden colour, the colour of 18-carat gold! A beautiful fragrant aroma, intense citrus notes, preceded an intense and dense palate of very concentrated, very ripe citrus fruits, beautifully balanced, finishing with a long clean lingering finish. A very great wine, this bottle of Montrachet.
