If you feel left out because you never watched Game of Thrones, forge ahead with The Witcher which has enough gore, nudity and fantasy to keep you entertained, despite its generally bad reviews. Yes, it's a cheesy mashup of every fantasy genre you can think of from LOTR to Star Wars and Harry Potter with a detour to Wakanda or Themyscira, and F-bomb-filled dialogue that swings from Shakespearean to "Dragons are a thing" youthspeak. So many wrongs make you want to give up with each ensuing episode despite Geralt of Rivia's (Henry Cavill) stylishly shaggy locks and piercing cat eyes. Yet, pass the halfway mark and you're sufficiently invested in the plot's criss-crossing timelines to want to watch Geralt's oft-mentioned destiny to unfold. Guess it's our fate to follow this guy through to Season 2.

The Witcher is now streaming on Netflix
