AFTER enduring years of apathy and edginess with Singapore football, to everyone's relief, the country's sports administrators have finally woken up to the fact that it is time to lift the sport from the doldrums.

To their credit, the powers-that-be chose a reawakening slogan in Unleash The Roar! (UTR!), the coinage of which gels with the Kallang Roar that galvanised the packed National Stadium during the Malaysia Cup heyday from the 1970s to the 1990s.
