Venice Biennale: Singapore spotlight
THE art world's premier event Venice Biennale takes place this weekend and in tomorrow's BTLifestyle, we bring you a preview fresh from the romantic Italian city. All abuzz with some 80 national pavilions, we spotlight Singapore's representative, prolific artist-writer-filmmaker Shubigi Rao whose ambitious long-term project examines the history of book destruction across the world and its impact on the future of knowledge.
The ambitious exhibit sees the Singapore pavilion designed as a paper maze to resemble a book, with visitors entering a world of pages and text.
On the homefront, the Red Dot Design Museum reopens with an exhibition of the 2021/2022 winners of the Red Dot Awards - check out the works of established and emerging designers with their innovative products. In Style, find fashion inspiration in Gucci's Love Parade collection, and continue with an meal at Il Cielo, which serves dependable and familiar Italian fare.
