ARTIST Serine Kwak de Labaume still remembers how she felt while organising the FreshAir Fine Arts Festival in November last year. Arranging daily artist talks and evening concerts was a tiring and stressful affair, leaving her with just three or four hours of sleep a night for a month, she says.
And if that wasn't overwhelming enough, she had to deal with snide remarks from people who labelled her a bad mother for spending her time working instead of taking care of her two daughters.
Says the 42-year-old: "I felt sad and hurt, and I wondered why so much was asked of me. And what is asked of today's women?"
