Virtual or live, this arts festival will go on

THE arts must go on, say the organisers of this year's Singapore International Festival of the Arts (SIFA). So Covid-19 or not, the keyword "international" will be in the forefront, with live and virtual performances from around the world scheduled for the country's largest arts event.

Indeed, while other festivals around the world are going fully online or shrinking their programmes, SIFA is determined to carry on as if Singapore has already beaten the coronavirus. There will be more than 60 shows and 300 performances in both virtual and live venues over 16 days in May. In tomorrow's BTLifestyle, we take a look behind the scenes of the festival and recommend the top shows you mustn't miss.

Next, we move to Tiong Bahru, to visit the home of a couple who have lived in the area since 2008, after having moved a few times before settling into their "final" home. The delightful 1,200 sq ft ground floor 60s apartment is a treasure trove of Peranakan artifacts and blends harmoniously into the neighbourhood.

In Dining, we check out the bar at the newly opened Waku Ghin, which offers you the chance to spend as much or (almost) as little as you want in the more casual arm of the upscale Japanese restaurant.
