Nominated as Gramophone Artist of the Year in 2016, Russian-born British concert pianist Yevgeny Sudbin has been impressing audiences with his spellbinding performances since his debut in 2008. His interpretation of Scriabin, Rachmaninov and Scarlatti have earned unmitigated praise. The 38-year-old makes a long-awaited return to Singapore with a one-night-only solo recital of some of his favourite music, including sonatas by Scarlatti, Gaspard de la nuit by Ravel, a selection of piano pieces by Tchaikovsky, and the Singapore première of Sudbin's own transcription of Tchaikovsky's fantasy overture to Romeo & Juliet.
Piano Recital by Yevgeny Sudbin runs at the Victoria Concert Hall on Jan 16 at 7.30pm.
