They have colourful and ornate facades, and are commonly found in Joo Chiat, Geylang, Chinatown and Little India. Shophouses have existed in Singapore for more than a century and are an integral part of our history.
Russian photographer Tatyana Kildisheva's fascination with Peranakan heritage and shophouses - especially their eclectic design and vibrant colours - began when she moved to Singapore in 2013.
