Walking from the past to the future
Jubilee Big Walk on Nov 29 will celebrate the S'pore Spirit, going past national landmarks
Singapore
LACE up those walking shoes. Organised by People's Association and The New Paper (TNP), the Big Walk is back. On Nov 29, to mark the end of Singapore's 50th anniversary celebrations, 25,000 walkers will be joined by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for the Jubilee Big Walk.
The 5km route starts at the National Museum of Singapore and ends at the Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. People's Association chief executive director Ang Hak Seng said during a media conference: "It's not just another walk. This is an important piece of our Singapore story which was forged by our pioneers. They've walked this journey, and we are now tracing their footsteps. By doing this, we will witness the important milestones of Singapore's development over the last 50 years."
