A sustainable future starts with a capsule wardrobe

Published Thu, Oct 10, 2019 · 09:50 PM

THE CONCEPT OF a capsule wardrobe is not new - but its emphasis on streamlining and cutting out excess has become more relevant in a more environmentally conscious society.

The way British fashion icon Susie Faux defined a capsule wardrobe when she coined the term in the 1970s is a collection of 30 to 40 pieces of practical and versatile clothing put together to create an entire wardrobe for a season. A season is typically every three months, and by the end of this period, you update it for the next season.

But if that seems too daunting for first timers, take baby steps by editing 10 pieces and wearing them exclusively for 10 days. This gives you a feel of it and a great way to kickstart this initiative.
