Best ultra-tough diver's watch of its time
THIS year marks the 50th birthday of the Edox Hydro-Sub, which its maker claims to be "the best ultra-tough diver's watch of its time".
You can tell the timepiece today from its cushion case and bright orange bezel and indices, which can be read clearly in the dark.
When Edox, the Geneva-based watchmaker, launched the first model in 1965, it set new standards for ultra-deep dive watches. The watch could go up to 500 metres deep in water - an astonishing feat then - and still keep ticking.
