PATEK PHILIPPE TIMEPIECES ARE A showcase of the ultimate in luxury and watchmaking skills, and the brand’s latest models are proof of that. Highly complicated mechanisms are wrapped in diamonds and a rainbow of sapphires, all encased in rose gold. While a delight for ladies, men are not left out; among the new models is a unique complications combo watch that features a vintage-inspired face framed by a white gold case.
A Lady in Red
Nothing says love better than the dazzling array of diamonds and sapphires in Patek Philippe’s Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph (Ref 7968/300R-001) – the first model with a chronograph movement in the brand’s sporty chic collection for ladies. This multicoloured confection features 40 flawless rare white diamonds and 40 sapphires lining the octagonal bezel of the new 39.99 mm watch, which incidentally is also Patek Philippe’s first self-regulating ladies’ chronograph. The medley of colours extends to a mother-of-pearl dial engraved with the Aquanaut motif, all encased in 18K rose gold. The hour markers in rose gold are sapphires in nuanced colours that blend with those on the dial. Another 10 diamonds decorate the foldover clasp of the red strap, which is also available in matte beige and matte white. Price: S$280,600
Give the World of Time
Eleven years after its debut, the Ladies’ World Time (Ref 7130R-014) has been given a fresh new look. It’s got a new dial in an original, modern and elegant olive green – a colour that playfully shifts in the light while giving it a timeless aesthetic. A hand-guilloche basketweave motif – a work of rare craftsmanship – at its centre further enhances the dial’s look. The olive green shade is picked up on the city disk where the white-printed names of cities stand out clearly. The dial is crowned by 62 diamonds adorning the bezel, framed in a 36 mm rose gold case. Price: S$76,400
For the Time Traveller
Fitted with an annual calendar and a travel time system that makes possible the display of a second time zone, the Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time (Ref 5326G-001) offers two useful functions in one timepiece. It’s the first time that the brand’s two outstanding and patented complications are combined in one model. Yet the new watch isn’t simply about slapping the two together; a new self-winding movement with eight patents was created to make room for both mechanisms to ensure they work smoothly as one. Living up to Patek Philippe’s reputation for technical perfection as well as aesthetic beauty, Ref 5326G comes in a totally new 42 mm wide, 18K white gold Calatrava case decorated in a guilloche hobnail pattern. What’s more, the case frames a vintage-looking dial that recalls cameras of old. Price: S$101,300
