The hardest gold
Honeygold
THIS gold alloy that gives a warm glow is harder than any gold alloys - thanks to mineral additives and a special heat treatment. The 18-carat alloy is composed of 75 per cent fine-gold. A mix of copper and zinc gives it a fascinating hue that lies between pink and white gold.
Exclusive to A Lange & Sohne, Honeygold has, since it's launch 11 years ago, graced 12 Lange limited edition models - including the Zeitwerk Honeygold "Lumen" (limited 200), the latest to be presented in this patented material.
The first Honeygold models were the Tourbograph "Pour le Merite" (limited 50), the Lange 1 Tourbillon (limited 150) and the 1815 Moon Phase (limited 265). They were unveiled in 2010 as a "165 Years - Homage to FA Lange" collection in tribute to Lange's founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange on the brand's 165th anniversary.
The rest of the Honeygold models are:
- Richard Lange Tourbillon "Pour le Merite" Handwerkskunst (limited 15) which also features rare dial and movement decorations, introduced in 2011;
- A 1815 "200th Anniversary FA Lange" (limited 200) watch that salutes the founder of Lange's 200th birthday, in 2015;
- Lange 1 Timezone (limited 100), in 2016;
- Zeitwerk Decimal Strike (limited 100), in 2017;
- Langematik Perpetual (limited 100), which marks the debut an automatic movement and a perpetual calendar, in 2019; and
- Tourbograph Perpetual Honeygold (limited 50), 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold (limited 100) and 1815 Thin Honeygold (limited 175), in 2020 - in a "Homage to FA Lange" on the brand's 175th anniversary.
