New Kids On The Block
Through the years, the Portugieser has become one of IWC's most well-loved collections. The watches are dressy enough to be paired with a suit on a work day but they are also sporty enough to wear out on weekends.
Two new pieces have been recently added to the Portugieser family by IWC. One is a new variant of the Portugieser Automatic which comes in a stainless steel case with silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands.
The other is a perpetual calendar in platinum case - a first for the collection. There is also no need to make any manual adjustment until the year 2100 as the mechanism is capable of identifying different month lengths and leap years automatically. A special reduction gear also makes the double moon display so accurate that it will only deviate from the actual orbit of the earth's satellite after 577.5 years, and then only by one day.
