ORIS has lost no time in putting its first in-house movement in almost 35 years into new models. The latest watch to be equipped with the hand-wound movement - a new Big Crown ProPilot timepiece - came just months after Oris went big with Calibre 111, the first mass produced Oris watch powered by the in-house movement.
Calibre 111 itself was introduced only a year after the 10-day power reserve movement was first unveiled in Calibre 110, a limited edition model created to celebrate the independently owned Swiss watch brand's 110th anniversary. All 220 pieces of Calibre 110 were sold out before it was officially launched.
"The Big Crown Propilot Calibre 111 is another sign of Oris's eagerly anticipated return to movement manufacturing," the brand says.
