Pretty Faces
It’s not just the complication that makes a watch - looks matter too
THE dial of a watch is the first thing you see, but also the most taken for granted as attention is reserved for the bells and whistles within. But watchmakers also know the appeal of a pretty face, which is why the dial takes centre stage in the design of these 3 new timepieces.
Tag Heuer - Carrera Red Dial
Red is core to TAG Heuer’s identity, but never has the colour come to cover the entire dial as it does on its new watch. It’s modelled on the same pure, understated aesthetic that has made the Heuer Carrera, first designed in 1963, the brand’s signature and most refined sports chronograph.
This crimson interpretation of the original Heuer Carrera reference 2447 makes a statement and infuses new energy to the classic timepiece. The face of the updated piece, framed in a 39 millimetre-wide stainless steel case, is sun-ray brushed while the 3 chronograph counters are snailed to produce a subtle contrast and play of light.
