Four dancers move through various locations around Kampong Bugis and recall the glory days of the district, particularly in the 1950s when it housed Kallang Gasworks, then the industrial pride of the yet-to-be-formed country.
Today, all that's left of the gasworks is its skeletal structure (pictured) around which the dancers will perform. Other locations for this sprawling site-specific performance include Camp Kilo Charcoal Club and Sri Manmatha Karuneshvarar Temple.
Titled Bitten: Return To Our Roots, the work combines verbatim storytelling and bharatanatyam dance and is directed and choreographed by Thong Pei Qin and Dr Nidya Shanthini Manokara.
