ANY watch buyer lucky enough to land Patek Philippe's new Nautilus stainless steel timepiece is sure to leave many other watch fans green with envy in more ways than one. Jealousy aside, this new Nautilus base model featuring just three hands and a date comes with a new olive-green sunburst dial.
Although it's the only new thing about this new Nautilus (Reference 5711/1A-014) - the case, movement and bracelet remain unchanged - it doesn't make it any less desirable. If anything, its rarity makes it even more coveted by collectors.
The Nautilus, already one of the world's hottest sports watches, has been recognised by its blue dial for a long time. The new timepiece brings a new colour into the Nautilus family. More important, it is the last of the 5711 model. After this year, Patek Philippe will stop production of this cult steel watch which was first launched in 1976.
