White Truffle Affair

Each year, gourmets and philanthropists gather at Castello di Grinzane in Italy for the World Alba White Truffle Auction to bid for the prized fungi and do good at the same time. Proceeds - typically thousands of euros - are donated to humanitarian causes. The international auction is broadcast live around the world and this year, Singapore, Hong Kong and Moscow are included. On Nov 10, a charity dinner auction will be held at Aura, with a specially curated menu by chef-owner Beppe De Vito, during which diners can bid against participants from Alba, Hong Kong and Moscow. There will also be a local auction where a small selection of Alba white truffles, will be up for bid. A portion of these proceeds will be donated to a Singapore charity.
