WITH THE MAJOR SIHH show in Geneva shifted from January to April under its new name Watches & Wonders, the watch community instead flew to attend LVMH Watch Week Dubai 2020.
The three-day event last month was intended to showcase LVMH's watchmaking brands - Bvlgari, Hublot, TAG Heuer and Zenith - with the highlight being the roll out of Bvlgari's new Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon.
It's the smallest women's tourbillon on the market, designed to fit into the sleek dimensions of a serpent-head case of the brand's iconic Serpenti. Powering the mini complication is a rare tourbillon movement for women, BVL150, which is a synthesis of Swiss knowledge and jewelry-making savoir faire. "It revives the lost tradition of the small mechanical movements that were replaced by the quartz in the early 1970s," says a Bvlgari statement.
