A Christmas debut for Patek Philippe
The brand new Cubitus brightens up the festive season
MORE THAN A MONTH SINCE the Cubitus was launched in October, Patek Philippe’s brand new collection is still the talk of the watch community.
It’s a coveted Christmas gift for sure – if you can get your hands on one. With a long waiting list, it may take a while. After all, the Cubitus is lauded not just because it bears the Patek Philippe name, but also because the series represents a new chapter in the brand’s long history.
It’s destined to be the conversation topic of choice at your Christmas party, but even if it’s not your style, there are two other iconic models to add to your festive gift list.
Ref 5822P-001 Cubitus
Instantly recognisable by its square-shaped case with rounded corners, the new model is a reinterpretation of the “elegant sporty” style that defines Patek Philippe’s insanely popular Nautilus and Aquanaut collections.
A bezel that blends square, circle and octagon tops the case, which stands out for its two attachments. While rather large by Patek Philippe’s standards, the 45-mm-wide case sports a slender profile that is timelessly refined. Contrasting “vertical satin-brushed” and polished finishes further enhance the case’s bold geometric design.
The dial is enriched by horizontal relief embossing, which extends to the rotors and mini-rotors of the movement.

The Cubitus is a technical model in platinum, showcasing a large-format date display, moon phase and the day of the week – all changing instantaneously. Like with all platinum Patek Philippe timepieces, the diamond in this case is also set at six o’clock, but for the first time it is a baguette-cut gem.
Powered by a new in-house automatic movement with six patents pending, the watch is worn with a navy blue strap made of ultra-resistant composite material. It’s priced at S$128,000.
There is also a time-only version of the Cubitus, given a vintage touch by a stainless steel and rose gold case and bracelet. The timepiece, which flaunts a blue sunburst dial, runs on an in-house self-winding movement that first appeared in 2019.
Still another watch in the Cubitus’ first line-up is a full steel version – bracelet included – of the two-tone model. It also features a sunburst dial, but in olive green.
Ref 4962/200R-001 Gondolo Serata
This jewellery watch returns to Patek Philippe’s Gondolo collection of Art Deco-inspired “form watches” in a slightly larger rose gold version. The new Gondolo Serata sparkles with 94 brilliant-cut spessartite gems in tones ranging from “cognac” to “mandarine”, set in a double-colour incline to highlight the case’s refined curves.
The brown-lacquered dial is decorated with a floral motif that plays with the contrast between matt and polished finishes. The watch is worn with a brown calfskin strap with a satin finish that echoes the dial’s colour.
Price: S$60,400
Ref 5924G-010 Pilot Chronograph
The first chronograph in Patek Philippe’s Pilot style watch line, this flyback model doubles as a travel watch with its two-time-zone mechanism. The self-winding timepiece in white gold with a date indicated by a hand, coupled with local time, comes in two versions.
One features a sunburst blue-grey dial paired with a navy blue grained calfskin strap; the other boasts a khaki green lacquered dial and a matching olive green strap, with a vintage finish.
Price: S$113,500
