IT MAY HAVE BEEN FIRST rolled out in 1978, but the Tissot PRX is still a hot-selling watch. Priced easy on the pocket with many colours to choose from, the PRX – short for “precise and robust” – is an ideal Christmas gift, especially with two freshly launched cool models.

There are five versions of this petite quartz timepiece to choose from, including stainless steel and PVD carnation gold. The iconic tapered tonneau case is still the key feature, but it’s paired with vibrant colours for a vintage yet versatile 70s-inspired look.

The PRX Quartz 25 mm, which features a tiny 25-mm-wide case that is water-resistant to 100 m, reflects the currently fashionable small-is-beautiful aesthetic. It follows the success of the 2021 PRX Quartz 40 mm, and the reintroduction of the 35 mm version.

Fans will be happy to see this model – which resonated strongly with many in the past – making a comeback. By reviving the 25 mm size, Tissot stays true to tradition while remaining relevant with new materials and continuing the PRX’s lineage as a watchmaking staple.

Three of the five versions of the PRX Quartz 25 mm come with sunburst dials in ice blue, black or nude. The black and nude watches sparkle with diiamond hour markers, adding a touch of brilliance. While the ice blue and black dials are encased in steel, the nude face is framed in a PVD carnation gold case with a matching bracelet, casting a warm glow.

The other two versions are endowed with a delicate mother-of-pearl dial, one encased in steel with a steel bezel, and the other in steel with a rose gold PVD bezel for a subtle contrast.

A high-tech variant of the iconic PRX line, the PRX 40 Powermatic 80 Forged Carbon boasts a 40-mm forged carbon case that is water-resistant to 100 m.

As no two forged carbon cases are the same, each watch in this lightweight but durable material is unique. But it’s a heavyweight in areas that count – the timepieces in this collection are designed for optimal performance in demanding conditions.

The PRX 40 Powermatic 80 Forged Carbon stands out with its full black aesthetic that includes a black date window disc and an integrated rubber strap with an interchangeable system – the only model among the new releases with this strap.

The watch runs on an automatic movement fitted with a silicon balance spring that makes it resistant to magnetism, temperature changes and impacts. It has a power reserve of 80 hours.
