Krayon timepieces turn maths into haute horology
The watches tell when the sun rises and sets, everywhere and anywhere
SOME pumped-up hacks recently wrote: “Give (Krayon founder) Remi Maillot a pencil and he will sketch and transform with ease abstract mathematical calculations into fantastic watchmaking creations.”
They must have been blown away by this Swiss watchmaking wizard’s first watch. Essentially a highly complex calculator on the wrist, it tells when the sun rises and sets — everywhere.
Everywhere, incidentally, is also the name of the watch. It took the innovation prize in the 2018 Grand Prix de la Haute Horlogerie (GPHG) awards, the Oscars of watchmaking.
