Love that stands the test of time
Watchmakers show off their romantic side for Valentine’s Day
HOW do watchmakers spread the love on Valentine’s Day? Easy. Think red, with a splash of white and plenty of bling to dazzle the subject of one’s affections. Brands rise to the occasion again this year with unique timepieces that appeal to different tastes, and these new models are perfect examples of how to wear your heart on your wrist.
Harry Winston Avenue Classic Valentine
Better known for its jewellery, Harry Winston’s passion for gems shines through in its Avenue Classic Valentine – as seen in the flurry of little hearts that seem to float on its white mother-of-pearl dial. Conjuring up ephemeral feelings of love, precious gemstones in shades of pink and red present a whimsical tribute to romance, while diamonds glitter brightly in the mix.
Designed in the Art Deco style of the 1930s, the Avenue Classic Valentine features an 18 carat white-gold case rimmed with diamonds and rubies. The quartz-powered timepiece, limited to 14 pieces, is paired with a red alligator strap with diamonds decorated on a white-gold folding buckle.
